This role is responsible for defining, designing and implementing pricing and coding strategies. The individual will oversee the full pricing and coding lifecycle, from strategy to execution, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. This role also involves analyzing pricing data, forecasting revenue, and collaborating with various departments to achieve strategic objectives. This role reports into the VP, Access, Pricing and Advocacy and has direct interactions with senior management, the Commercial organization, and multiple functions e.g. Finance.
Responsibilities
- Pricing and coding Strategy Development: formulate and implement pricing and coding strategies for new and existing products, considering market dynamics, competitive landscape, and company goals.
- Develop and execute pricing and coding strategies: include determining appropriate pricing and coding for products, and establishing long-term pricing and access strategies.
- Government Pricing and coding Compliance: ensure compliance with government pricing programs like Medicaid and Medicare, working closely with legal and regulatory affairs teams.
- Gross-to-Net Forecasting: analyze pricing and contracting data to support Gross-to-Net (GTN) forecasting and understand the impact of rebates, discounts, and other financial incentives.
- Pricing and coding Management: manage the full pricing lifecycle, from initial set up to monitoring performance, and making necessary adjustments.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: utilize data analytics to identify trends, optimize pricing (and related contracting strategies), and provide insights to improve decision-making.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: collaborate with other teams, such as market access operations, sales, and brand strategy, to ensure alignment and achieve commercial objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in business, accounting or finance. MBA preferred.
- 10+ yrs of related experience (e.g. pricing, contract analytics, finance) supporting pre- and post-new product launches
- 3+ years of experience in navigating payer, provider, and legislative landscape and application of biopharma Marketing competences (i.e., segmentation, customer insight, positioning, marketing mix)
- Experience working with teams to develop payer and segment specific market insights and incorporating them into the brand/strategic planning process
- Ability to combine data analysis with qualitative insights to identify and explain market access, brand, and above-brand drivers of business performance
- Understanding of corporate finance fundamentals (gross & net sales, P&L inputs, gross margin, COGs, working capital, etc.)
- Understanding of specialty trade channels, pricing, reimbursement, and appropriate market access strategies
- Travel required up to 10%
Compensation
The expected base salary range for this position is $203,157 to $303,417. We are committed to compensating employees equitably based on several factors including experience, education, licensure/certifications, skill level, location of the position, and availability of similar talent in a competitive market.
Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary bonus, long term incentive, 401(K) plan with employer contribution, health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.
