About the Boxser Diversity Initiative (BDI)

Founded in 2009, the Boxser Diversity Initiative (BDI) is a respected non-profit advancing meaningful dialogue and education to foster a deeper understanding of our diverse communities in Southwest Florida. Through nationally recognized speakers and impactful programming, BDI has built strong credibility, loyal supporters, and significant momentum.

BDI is now entering its next phase of growth and seeks a dynamic Executive Director to lead the organization forward.

The Executive Director provides overall leadership for BDI, overseeing strategy, visibility, and operations. Working closely with an engaged Board of Directors, this role combines public-facing representation with hands-on execution and offers the opportunity to shape the future of a proven organization. While this is currently the organization’s sole full-time position, the Executive Director works in close partnership with the Board and leverages consultants, contractors, and volunteers to achieve BDI’s goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the public representative and primary spokesperson for BDI
• Lead planning and execution of programs, events, and initiatives
• Oversee day-to-day operations, including volunteers, systems, and vendors
• Drive fundraising growth, donor stewardship, and partnerships
• Oversee communications, including website content and community outreach
• Collaborate with the Board on strategy, growth, and long-term sustainability

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience in non-profit leadership, executive management, or mission-driven organizations
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and public-facing skills
• Demonstrated success in fundraising and donor engagement
• Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution
• Based in Sarasota, Florida
