Florida Atlantic University is seeking Student Assistants in Boca Raton, FL, to assist with daily operations. The candidate should be well-organized and detail-oriented, with strong interpersonal/verbal communication skills. The position requires an outgoing personality who enjoys assisting students, parents, faculty, staff, and alumni. Candidates will be involved in the day-to-day functions and use of the building. Candidates will assist with event programming, including Alumni Tailgates, Hall of Fame and Distinguished Alumni Awards, Talon Leadership Awards, Majestic Owls class reunions, and similar activities. Student Assistants will support the department's mission and provide excellent customer service. Summary of responsibilities includes: Greet visitors at the Marlene and Harold Forkas Alumni Center. Respond to phone calls, voicemails, and answer email correspondence. Handles calendar invites, updates, and upkeep. Provide information on how to join the Alumni Association, member benefits, and the Student Alumni Association. Support front reception desk activities for students, faculty, staff, job duties, and parents. Assist with the coordination of events, event setup, and take-down of floor plans. Host/Assist with events held on-site (Marlene and Harold Forkas Alumni Center). Create flyers and other documents. Inventory control. Orders supplies, equipment maintenance, and submits Facility Work Orders regarding building general maintenance. Assist in keeping the office, classrooms, and other areas in the building neat and clean. Learn and retain knowledge about departmental programs and events. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications: Degree-seeking undergraduate student with a minimum of six credit hours (or twelve if international) and a 2.0 GPA. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Canva, and other applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service, organizational, and time management skills. Salary: $14.00 an hour. College or Department: IA: Alumni Affairs/Operations Location: Boca Raton Work Days and Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Evenings and weekends may be required.
