As a Grid Operations Industry Expert, you’ll work closely with utility leaders and operations teams to assess current practices, identify gaps, and guide clients toward improved operational workflows, decision-making, and workforce performance. You’ll leverage your system operations expertise to advise on future-state processes, operational standards, readiness strategies, and organizational best practices. While you may support the development or validation of training materials, this role is primarily consultative, focusing on client-facing problem-solving and operational improvement. This is an opportunity to influence how utilities operate, prepare their teams, and adapt to the evolving demands of the modern grid. What You’ll Do

Advise Utility Leaders — Provide expert guidance on operational challenges, workforce capabilities, and opportunities to improve reliability and system performance. Evaluate Current-State Operations — Analyze processes, roles, and decision-making frameworks to identify strengths, gaps, and areas for improvement. Shape Future-State Solutions — Define and refine business processes, operational standards, and readiness strategies aligned with industry best practices and emerging grid needs. Support Training & Readiness — Review training content, validate simulations, and ensure materials accurately reflect real-world operational practices. Collaborate Across Teams — Partner with internal project teams and client SMEs to ensure operational insights inform project plans, assessments, and deliverables. Build Long-Term Client Relationships — Act as a trusted partner, helping utilities enhance their operations through practical, experience-backed recommendations. What You Bring

Strong experience in electric distribution, transmission, or utility control center operations Ability to assess operational performance and provide practical, strategic recommendations Knowledge of utility operational roles, workflows, and decision-making processes Familiarity with SCADA/OMS/ADMS platforms (ABB, OSI, GE, Schneider Electric) Excellent communication, facilitation, and consulting skills Business and operational acumen to connect recommendations with organizational goals Experience supporting training, modeling, or simulation development is a plus (but not required as a primary focus) Compensation & Benefits

The compensation range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making hiring and compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to candidate skill set, consulting experience, training and education, competencies, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Mosaic strives to set salaries at, or near the 50th percentile (midpoint) of the range and it is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the range for the position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $150,000.00 to $190,000.00. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus program of up to 10% of annual compensation. The bonus program is dependent on a variety of factors including organizational and individual performance.
