The Center for a Healthy Maryland, an affiliate of MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society, was established in 1976 as a 501(c)(3) corporation. It supports charitable, educational, and scientific initiatives, including public health programs, physician quality improvement, and continuing medical education. The Center promotes healthcare advancements through community outreach, health promotion, and the preservation of medical history in Maryland. Relaunched in 2019 with a renewed mission, it remains dedicated to positively impacting public health and advancing the medical field.
Role Description
This is a full‑time on‑site role located in Baltimore, MD. The Director of Development and Fundraising will spearhead all fundraising initiatives, including annual giving, planned giving, and philanthropy opportunities. Responsibilities will involve budgeting and financial planning for fundraising campaigns, developing donor relationships, and overseeing philanthropic efforts. Additionally, the individual will design strategies to achieve fundraising goals and support the Center's mission through effective resource development.
Qualifications
Experience with Planned Giving strategies and initiatives
Expertise in Annual Giving and creating fundraising campaigns
Proficiency in Philanthropy and cultivating donor relationships
Strong skills in Budgeting financial, and resource allocation
Proven success in organizing and managing comprehensive Fundraising programs
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
Familiarity with public health or nonprofit organizations is a plus
Starting salary between $70,000 and $80,000 depending on experience, with a tiered bonus structure
