Midwest Eye Care is looking for an Ophthalmic Assistant at our locations Omaha (13500 California Street / 4353 Dodge Street) and Council Bluffs (715 Harmony Street).

Fulltime Hours - 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday thru Friday

In this role WE provide the training so that YOU are prepared to: • Review and document eye and medical history. • Perform a variety of routine tests including intraocular pressures and refracting. • Dilate eyes for exams. • Assist the physician during diagnostic and minor surgical procedures, including instrumentation, sterile preparations and documentation. • Prepare and position patient for diagnostic tests and procedures. • Assist the physician with patient education pertaining to the treatment prescribed. • Answer phones and return patient phone calls. • Record patient charges for billing department.

Requirements

Outstanding candidates will have:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Analytical and problem-solving skills. • Prior customer facing experience demonstrating a professional appearance and conduct • The ability to learn systems and software quickly. • Possess excellent computer skills, and be willing to work as a team player displaying a positive outlook to others. • This position requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED. • Associates or Bachelor's degree is preferred but NOT required.

Offered Candidates will need to do the following before first day:

• Successfully complete a background check which includes an education verification and a motor vehicle record check. • Successfully complete drug, alcohol and nicotine testing.
