Taft is looking for a dedicated Senior Intellectual Property (IP) Docketing Specialist to enhance our dynamic team. With a strong commitment to a 'Client First' philosophy, we aim to provide exceptional services to our clients in the intellectual property arena. Duties and Responsibilities: Manage all facets of IP docketing for U.S. and international portfolios, focusing on trademarks, patents, and domain names. Prepare and distribute detailed docket reports to attorneys and legal teams, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines. Preserve and audit the docket database; this includes entering, clearing, and updating filing due dates and reminders as necessary. Utilize advanced knowledge of the docket database to generate customized reports and implement necessary changes. Assist in the intake and auditing process for all transferred intellectual property files. Coordinate client communications, maintaining the integrity of electronic case records. Stay informed about trends, developments, and legislative changes impacting IP procedures and regulations. Engage with the USPTO or relevant trademark jurisdictions to verify deadlines and filing requirements. Identify opportunities for improvement in policies and procedures, proposing enhancements to the Docket Department. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Extensive experience in trademark clearance, prosecution, renewal, and enforcement processes. Proficient in docketing software (e.g., Pattsy, CPI, Foundation IP, Anaqua). Strong understanding of federal, state, and local intellectual property laws and regulations. Familiarity with U.S. Patent terminology, prosecution procedures, and deadlines for both domestic and foreign IP matters. Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word). Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Capacity to prioritize responsibilities and work under tight deadlines. Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and self-direction. Capability to handle and maintain confidential information with discretion. Qualifications: Some education beyond high school is required; a Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred. Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant work experience.
