The job is a member of the Digital Team within the Customer Experience Division. The position will strive to differentiate American as an industry leader in mobile products and enhance American products in mobile channels. It will define and deliver the foundation of American’s mobile applications, bridging the gap across business, products and IT. You will own one of the most important moments in booking, where customers enter their details and shift from browsing to “okay, let’s do this.” You will get hands-on with the systems that make booking work, from availability checks and inventory holds to creating the virtual PNR behind the scenes. What you'll do

Includes responsibilities but may include additional essential functions and tasks as needed by management, with consideration for legal obligations and agreements. Collaborates with internal partners from IT, UX and Analytics to understand customer behavior and create strong customer experiences. Promotes mobile tools and features to support other products while ensuring experiences align with the mobile vision and overall mobile experience. Keeps stakeholders informed and communicates outcomes, learnings, and changes as teams work toward objectives. Conducts competitive benchmarking to research new technologies, identify gaps, and discover opportunities to enhance the customer experience. Participates in the development and implementation of new mobile features, including Agile ceremonies and using Agile product management tools. Translates business objectives into technical specifications by creating a backlog of clearly written and well-defined user stories. Manages the mobile platform backlog to focus on high-impact efforts to achieve objectives and key results. Works with third-party software vendors as the team builds mobile tools and offerings. Operates within the DevOps model, troubleshooting technical issues and prioritizing defect fixes and small enhancements within larger feature efforts. Partners with IT architects and technical leads to develop solutions that deliver customer value quickly while reducing ongoing costs. Leads ongoing demonstrations of new software to update stakeholders and team members on new features and functionality. Partners with other business units to write and accept user stories, ensuring technical and business requirements are met. Focuses on outcomes—identifying key metrics and continuously measuring and iterating to improve the product. All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience/training Understanding of mobile app technology frameworks and differences between Android and iOS platforms Understanding of how American’s systems interact with each other (e.g., Sabre, ITA, eTDS) 3 years relevant work experience, preferably in e-commerce Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience Master’s degree in related field Experience with selecting and implementing third-party software development kits to enhance app offerings and tools Experience using Agile and other SDLC techniques to develop and deliver software Experience working in a product model focused on outcomes to continuously improve the customer experience Mobile and travel/airline experience Skills, Licenses & Certifications Understanding of the latest mobile technologies and how those tools can be leveraged to drive customer engagement Proven track record in delivering products that generate substantial value High level of intellectual curiosity and comfort with ambiguity Well organized, able to multi-task and prioritize with minimal direction Clear communication skills—transparency, setting expectations and reporting on results Interpersonal skills that foster trust and collaboration within the team and across product teams What you'll get
