
Paper and Packaging Sales Executive

Vaco has partnered with a client located on the south west side of Indianapolis to hire a
Paper & Packaging Sales Executive.
This individual will play a critical role in managing key client relationships and driving business growth in the packaging solutions sector, with a focus on temperature-sensitive packaging, corrugated materials, plastic films, and other packaging products. Key Responsibilities:
Manage and develop relationships with key clients, ensuring their needs are met while driving customer satisfaction. Leverage in-depth knowledge of packaging (corrugated and flexible) and the paper market to provide tailored solutions to clients. Collaborate with the sales, production, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of client orders and projects. Analyze client requirements, ask the right questions, and proactively offer strategic packaging solutions that meet their needs. Work directly with clients, prospects, and internal teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of services and products. Utilize prior experience in distribution and manufacturing to navigate client needs and optimize processes. Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing, including upselling and identifying opportunities for new business. Suggest and implement strategic changes to streamline operations and improve client satisfaction. Guide clients through the sales process, ensuring smooth interactions between all stakeholders. Drive business development and revenue growth through successful outside sales efforts. Offer insight and expertise on paper market dynamics, machine processes, escalator and de-escalator charges, and collaboration with integrated paper producers. Provide input and support during ERP system implementations and other operational improvements. Qualifications:
5+ years of experience working in the paper or flexible packaging market. Strong background in outside sales, with a proven ability to develop new business and upsell existing clients. In-depth understanding of temperature-sensitive packaging, corrugated materials, and plastic films. Experience in the distribution and manufacturing sectors is essential. Expertise in packaging systems, including knowledge of the paper market, machine operations, escalator/de-escalator charges, and working with integrated paper producers. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to suggest strategic changes based on observations and client needs. Previous experience in ERP system implementations is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and collaborate effectively with internal teams. A proactive, self-driven approach to sales and client management.
