Position Summary The Member Services & Sales Coordinator supports ACP’s Member Relations Department with a focus on member services, sales operations, and engagement support. Reporting to the Senior Director, Member Sales & Engagement, this role works closely across the department to support membership growth, renewals, and retention.
This position manages the membership inbox and phone line to provide timely, professional responses to inquiries. The Coordinator also plays a key role in maintaining accurate membership data, supporting sales pipelines, assisting with renewals, and contributing to reporting and administrative needs across the department.
This role is well-suited for an early-career professional who is detail-oriented, service-minded, and eager to build experience in member engagement, sales operations, and stakeholder support within a mission-driven organization. Over time, the Coordinator is expected to grow in responsibility by building industry knowledge, developing stronger relationships across ACP, and taking on increased ownership of accounts or operational processes that support member growth and engagement.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
Manage the membership inbox and phone line, responding to inquiries from current and prospective members in a prompt, professional, and accurate manner.
Develop a working understanding of ACP’s membership structure, benefits, and engagement opportunities across industry segments.
Support small business members by maintaining regular communication, responding to questions, and identifying opportunities for deeper engagement with ACP.
Assist with annual membership renewals and year-round new member onboarding by tracking dues, monitoring renewal status, and supporting follow-up communications.
Accurately track prospective and renewing members through sales and renewal pipelines using CRM and project management tools, including Monday.com.
Support pipeline monitoring, reporting, and basic analysis to help identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for process improvement.
Create and maintain reports using data from multiple internal databases and external sources.
Assist with scheduling meetings and calls with current and prospective members and supporting follow-up activities as needed.
Maintain ACP’s membership database by entering new member information, updating contact records, and ensuring data accuracy.
Prepare agendas, briefing materials, and documentation for internal and external meetings and capture and distribute action items when appropriate.
Coordinate logistical support for member-related meetings, events, and activities, including materials, inventory, and shipments.
Provide general administrative and project support to the Member Relations Department as assigned.
Education, Experience, Skills
Bachelor’s degree preferred; 1–2 years of relevant experience, including internships or applicable educational experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate professionally with colleagues across teams and levels of the organization.
Service-oriented mindset with experience supporting internal or external stakeholders in a customer-facing, sales-support, or member services environment.
Learning agility and openness to feedback, with the ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and tools and apply them effectively.
Sound judgment in handling routine issues independently, with an understanding of when to seek guidance on more complex matters.
Interest in the clean energy industry and motivation to build knowledge of ACP’s mission, programs, and member value proposition.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related tools.
Experience working with CRM systems and project management platforms preferred.
Experience working with trade associations or within the clean power or energy industry is a plus.
Ability to travel up to 5 times per year, as needed.
Job Conditions We are a fast-paced, high-energy organization with a very ambitious agenda and a staff that is highly motivated. This position may experience high-level work demands and independent decision-making under tight timelines. Occasional travel outside of the Washington, DC area for meetings or events may be required. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. ACP will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
We reasonably believe that the base salary range for this position is $55,000 – 65,000 annually. At ACP, compensation decisions consider skills, experience, training, education, and organizational needs.
