Job Details Investor Group Services (IGS) invites candidates with an interest in private equity, growth strategy, commercialization, and creating value for clients to apply for the Growth & GTM Strategy Associate role.

Start Date:

As soon as possible. Winter / Early Spring 2026

Eligibility:

Must have bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience in revenue operations, growth strategy, sales strategy, or customer success.

Work Location:

Chicago, IL (preferred) or New York, NY

Work Structure:

Hybrid, with light travel (typically upwards of 1 to 2 times per month). The IGS Growth & GTM Strategy Group is a consulting “travel-lite” organization.

As a boutique advisory firm that works with private equity firms, strategic acquirers, and their portfolio companies, we help our clients assess investment opportunities across most major sectors by providing them with the data-driven insights and analysis they need to make investments in middle market companies and industries.

As part of our continued growth, we are hiring a Growth & GTM Strategy Associate who will specialize in working with PE sponsors and their portfolio companies on key areas of growth strategy, including expansion & adjacency planning, commercialization, customer behavior, and sales strategy & enablement.

IGS supports clients through:

M&A Due Diligence, Sell-side Industry Analysis, Growth Strategy, GTM Strategy & Pricing Strategy.

Buy-side commercial diligence on mission critical investment issues (addressable market, growth, competition, VoC) for PE & corporate acquisitions.

Sell-side industry reports to assist owners, management, and their advisors/investment bankers in preparing a company for sale.

Assisting portfolio company management in realizing value through accelerated organic growth, buy and build acquisition strategies and targeted quick strike value creation.

Advising clients on market entry, sales and marketing alignment, channel strategy, and customer segmentation to enhance market penetration and revenue growth.

Role Overview As a Growth & GTM Strategy Associate, you will play a critical role in case teams, driving key analytical workstreams and collaborating closely with Consultants and Engagement Managers. You will contribute to the development of GTM and growth strategies across industries and portfolio company situations—bridging quantitative market research with strategic recommendations that improve client commercial performance.

Associates take ownership of discrete workstreams and are responsible for research design, data analysis, synthesis of findings, and communication of insights to clients.

Key Responsibilities

Conducting market assessments, customer segmentation, and competitive analysis to inform GTM strategies.

Designing and implementing sales and marketing alignment plans, channel strategies, and customer engagement models.

Assisting in drafting client deliverables, such as growth strategy reports, commercial diligence decks, and executive presentations

Assuming a high level of responsibility on client teams as well as within firm.

Working in a dynamic and hybrid environment.

Working and living in Chicago or New York City (The IGS Growth & GTM Strategy Group is a consulting “travel-lite” organization. We travel for client work as requested / necessary – typically upwards of 1 to 2 times per month)

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; a focus in economics, business, finance, or a quantitative field is a plus

1-3 years of experience in revenue operations, growth strategy, sales strategy, or customer success.

Prior consulting experience or portfolio operations experience is a plus

Strong academic record (GPA 3.5+ preferred)

High proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is a plus

Exceptional research and analytical experience

Quick learner, self-starter, and hands-on contributor

Intellectual curiosity and a drive to solve complex business problems

Demonstrated ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data into actionable insights.

Very strong data analytics skills and capabilities (familiarity with statistical modeling, programming, etc.)

Strong ability to navigate financial statements, including the ability to build pro-forma P&L’s

Comfort with ambiguity and tight timelines

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to synthesize insights into clear, actionable recommendations

Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver high-quality output in a fast-paced, collaborative setting

Compensation:

Pay for the position: $100,000-$108,000 USD annually; pay issued semi-monthly.
