Position Overview The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures that ensure the firm’s collection and litigation practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of debt collection laws, risk management, and internal controls, as well as the ability to train and guide attorneys and staff on compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities Oversee compliance with FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, CFPB, and state collection laws. Develop and update firm compliance policies and procedures. Conduct audits, investigations, and risk assessments. Provide training and guidance to attorneys and staff on compliance requirements. Partner with leadership, clients, and vendors to maintain compliance standards. Act as a point of contact with clients, including investigating and answering questions, providing reports, and conducting call monitoring.
What We’re Looking For 3–5 years of compliance or risk management experience (law firm or collections experience strongly preferred). Solid knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented with high ethical standards.
