The Position Katalyst World Partners is seeking a
Communications Director
to provide leadership and strategic oversight of all organizational communications. This role exists to ensure that KATALYST’s vision, mission, and work are communicated clearly, consistently, and compellingly to donors, prayer partners, and prospective supporters.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communications Director will serve as a key thought partner to leadership, helping translate real work and real outcomes into clear narratives that invite partnership and sustain engagement.
Key Job Functions Strategic Communication Leadership
Develop and steward an integrated communications strategy aligned with KATALYST’s mission, values, and donor realities.
Ensure consistent messaging across all platforms and communication channels.
Advise leadership on communication priorities that support fundraising, reporting, and donor engagement.
Maintain clarity between vision, programs, outcomes, and storytelling.
Written & Digital Communications
Develop, edit, and refine website content for clarity, coherence, and effectiveness.
Contribute to website structure and design decisions as they relate to communication and donor engagement.
Write and edit blog posts, organizational updates, and long-form communications.
Produce or coordinate bi-monthly donor newsletters.
Develop fundraising, reporting, and promotional materials as needed.
Support content development for affiliated or adjacent websites and initiatives.
Social Media & Audience Engagement
Guide the tone, consistency, and purpose of KATALYST’s social media presence.
Adapt core messaging for various audiences and platforms without diluting organizational identity.
Ensure social media efforts reinforce trust, credibility, and mission alignment.
Collaboration & Oversight
Work closely with executive leadership to understand organizational priorities and initiatives.
Coordinate with staff, missionaries, and partners to gather stories, updates, and field insights.
Maintain quality control across all outward-facing communications.
Job Requirements
Faith & Mission Alignment: A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a growing personal faith and alignment with the mission and theological convictions of KATALYST.
Servant Leadership: A servant leader, balancing expertise with humility.
Communication Skills: Native-level proficiency in written and spoken English with effective oral and written communication skills.
Strategic Thinking: Capacity to think strategically about communication and a strong understanding of North American donor and reader psychology.
Technical Proficiency: Experience and ability to work with Microsoft products, including Office 365 and Windows Operating Systems.
Independence: Ability to work independently and be self-motivated in a remote, mission-driven environment.
Experience: Prior experience in nonprofit, missions, fundraising, or donor communications is strongly preferred.
