This position is dependent on funding and may be modified or terminated based on resource availability.

Position summary World Relief is seeking a dedicated Marketing and Communications Coordinator (part-time) to enhance our brand recognition and deepen engagement with potential supporters. In this flexible role, you will collaborate with local office and program staff to execute impactful media strategies that turn prospects into leads, donors, and advocates for World Relief’s mission. You will oversee organic and paid social efforts (including Meta and Google ads), ensuring integration with automated campaigns, while managing content and fostering meaningful online community engagement. Your contributions will help us make a greater impact in the communities we serve.

Role & responsibilities

Collecting assets: collect stories from clients (directly or via program managers) for marketing; document day-to-day World Relief Durham work via photos and videos for content in line with ethical storytelling guidelines; conduct monthly interviews to gather information, quotes, and testimonials; ensure consent releases are signed where necessary.

Developing content: manage creation and distribution of email newsletters for programs to keep our community informed; craft communications for fundraising, event promotion, and organizational updates; design graphics for print media to communicate the mission and work of World Relief Durham.

Social media management (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn): develop and implement social media strategies to increase followers and engagement; create, schedule, and post regular content; manage LinkedIn profile and share thought leadership; monitor, respond to comments and messages; track and analyze performance metrics and report findings; assist in managing paid digital advertising campaigns on social platforms or Google Ads.

HubSpot management: maintain and update contact records, campaigns, and data; monitor and report on campaign effectiveness; ensure integration between HubSpot and other platforms for data flow and reporting.

Marketing campaigns: collaborate with the World Relief home office to plan and distribute advocacy resources, responses to major events, calls to action, and fundraising campaigns; facilitate local campaigns for fundraising, volunteers, and advocacy events; create marketing materials including automation emails, Save the Dates, invitations, advertising, flyers, and social content; coordinate with printing and mailing houses for material production for mailings or in-person events.

Brand development & strategy: ensure materials align with brand guidelines; work with leadership to grow brand awareness; stay informed on digital marketing, social media, and nonprofit advocacy trends to inform innovative approaches.

Additional marketing responsibilities: track and manage the marketing budget; serve as communications contact for the home office.

Skills in developing content, managing social media, and using HubSpot (cloud-based marketing platform)

Preferred qualifications

Education and experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in social media and marketing, preferably in a nonprofit or donation-based organization
