Overview The Hilton Arlington National Landing is looking for their next Event Manager. Centrally located near Washington, D.C., just minutes from Reagan National Airport, this hotel sits in the heart of the National Landing neighborhood. It offers 393 guestrooms and 25,000 square feet of versatile meeting space.

Responsibilities As Event Manager you are responsible for event documentation and coordination with Sales, hotel departments and customers to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout the pre-event, event, and post-event phases of all hotel events. You will be required to ensure a seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales. Recognizes opportunities to maximize revenue by upselling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events. Serve as the event planner\'s primary contact following turnover on property and is responsible for his/her experience.

Specifically, your essential functions will be to perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

Organize, plan and prioritize your duties by developing plans and goals.

Timely communication to internal and external clients via telephone, email, written documents or in person.

Create and maintain relationships with clients to set and meet client expectations and deliver on those expectations.

Demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, systems, and processes.

Resolve conflicts and negotiate with others while handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts.

Selling and influencing both internal and external clients.

Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing and evaluating the issues and determine the best solution.

Ensure high-quality service by communicating and assisting others to understand the guest needs, providing direction and guidance, feedback and individual coaching when needed.

Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary.

Other duties as necessary based on business needs.

Requirements Our ideal candidate has at least one year of event management experience in a hotel environment and is familiar with supporting valued convention clients as they plan their conferences at our property. Strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and full flexibility are essential for success in this role.

Shift Pattern Shift Pattern:

Full Flexibility is a must. Office hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, but flexibility is essential to accommodate varying schedules, including weekends, holidays, for our convention group clients.

Pay Rate Pay Rate:

This is an hourly role at $29.00 per hour with participation in the hotels quarterly incentive plan.

Qualifications

One year of event management experience in a hotel environment preferred.

Strong attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and flexibility.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Ability to upsell and enhance events to maximize revenue.
