DESIGN ARCH is seeking a Junior Interior Designer to join our New York City studio in support of our growing portfolio of high-end residential work. This role is ideal for a motivated and detail-oriented designer eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a design-driven practice.
Role Description
As a Junior Interior Designer, you will work closely with our senior team across all phases of residential projects - from early concept through documentation, sourcing, and installation. You will provide essential technical and organizational support while building a strong foundation in the design process and execution of thoughtfully detailed interiors. This position offers meaningful exposure within a small, collaborative studio environment and the opportunity to grow long-term within the practice. Responsibilities
Support design development, including concept work, mood boards, and client presentations Assist with space planning, furniture layouts, and material selections Prepare technical drawings and documentation in AutoCAD (plans, elevations, and details) Aid in sourcing furniture, lighting, finishes, and custom materials Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, consultants, and project specialists Assist with specifications, schedules, and procurement requirements Support project installations and on-site work as needed Maintain organization of project files, sample libraries, and incoming/outgoing materials Qualifications
Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture Professional experience preferred, though early-career candidates with a strong willingness to learn are encouraged to apply Proficiency in AutoCAD is required Strong design sensitivity and attention to detail Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tasks Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset What We Offer
