Cultural Ambassador
Location: Forsyth Medical Center - Winston-Salem, NC
Hours: Fulltime| Monday-Friday| 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM
Novant Health is seeking an Spanish speaking Medical Interpreter/Cultural Ambassador to perform a variety of interpretation, translation, and customer service duties to help create a remarkable patient experience for non-English-speaking patients.

What You\'ll Do
Provide professional interpretation and translation services to support effective communication between non-English-speaking patients and healthcare staff.
Ensure patients understand medical procedures, treatment plans, and administrative processes by accurately conveying information in their preferred language.
Deliver compassionate and culturally sensitive customer service to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for patients with limited English proficiency.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to identify and address language barriers, enhancing the overall patient experience.
Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards while facilitating communication in a healthcare setting
Provide advocacy and empathy to patients and their families
What We\'re Looking For
Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. BA or BS, preferred.
Experience: One year of relevant experience, preferred.
Licensure/Certification: NBCMI, preferred.
Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation, competency testing and the ambassador onboarding program. Successfully complete departmental oral and written translation assessment. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed.
Additional Skills Preferred: Successful completion of medical terminology training within 1 year of hire. Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations, facilities as needed.
