Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Sr. Director of Supply Chain, a senior leadership role responsible for implementing, shaping, and executing the global supply chain strategy. This leader will drive operational excellence, lead enterprise-wide planning initiatives, and leverage advanced planning platforms (e.g., Kinaxis Maestro / Rapid Response) to optimize internal supply chain operations. The role requires a strong balance of strategic vision and hands-on Kinaxis execution, with deep collaboration across Business, Professional Services, Product, and other cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Supply Chain Strategy & Transformation - Drive the development, implementation, and continuous refinement of the global supply chain strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational growth needs.

Direct End-to-End Planning Platform Implementations - Oversee the deployment and optimization of planning solutions such as Kinaxis Maestro / Rapid Response, ensuring seamless integration with core business processes and systems (ERP, HANA, MuleSoft, Databricks)

Drive Operational Excellence & Process Optimization - Establish best-practice planning processes (demand, supply, inventory, capacity, S&OP/IBP) and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance agility, accuracy, and visibility.

Enable Concurrent Planning & Scenario Management - Implement advanced scenario planning, risk modeling, and what-if capabilities to support real-time decision-making and improve supply chain responsiveness.

Governance & Program Oversight - Establish program governance frameworks, oversee critical project milestones, manage risks, and ensure successful delivery of supply chain initiatives at enterprise scale.

Team Leadership & Capability Building - Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing supply chain planning and operations team. Drive capability development through training, process documentation, and adoption of new tools.

Stakeholder Management & Executive Reporting - Provide regular visibility into supply chain performance, platform adoption, project health, and key KPIs to senior and executive stakeholders.

Value Realization & Continuous Improvement - Measure and communicate business value delivered through supply chain transformation initiatives and continuously identify new opportunities for optimization and innovation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business, or a related field required.

Experience Required

15+ years of progressive experience in supply chain planning, operations, or transformation roles.

Demonstrated leadership experience in managing cross-functional supply chain initiatives.

Proven track record implementing advanced planning systems such as Kinaxis Rapid Response, Maestro, SAP IBP, O9, or similar.

Strong experience leading end-to-end system implementations, including design, configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and hyper care.

Background working in complex, fast-paced environments (life sciences, or similar industries preferred).

Experience managing large-scale programs with multimillion-dollar budgets and globally distributed teams.

Technical & Functional Skills

Deep functional knowledge of demand planning, supply planning, inventory optimization, capacity planning, and S&OP/IBP processes.

Strong understanding of ERP ecosystems (SAP S/4HANA, ECC) and data integration concepts.

Expertise in scenario planning, risk modeling, and data-driven decision-making.

Ability to translate business requirements into system solutions and process workflows.

Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.

Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

High degree of adaptability, collaboration, and resilience in dynamic environments.

Certifications (Preferred)

APICS CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD.

Kinaxis Rapid Response Author or Contributor certifications are highly desirable.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position $185,900 - $309,800>
