The Account Executive – Group Medicare is responsible for growing membership within existing accounts and for directly managing business relationships with client accounts. The Account Executive – Group Medicare work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The Group Medicare Account Executive serves as the primary contact for an assigned book of business, overseeing all aspects of customer account management. Responsibilities include developing and executing tailored retention strategies, presenting and negotiating renewals, and delivering annual reporting to each customer. The Account Executive acts as a consultative resource, advising on regulatory and industry changes that impact Medicare Advantage. Duties are influenced by each customer’s unique culture, expectations, requirements, complexity, and size.

Responsibilities The Account Executive – Group Medicare is expected to grow membership within existing accounts, manage client relationships, develop retention strategies, present and negotiate renewals, and provide annual reporting. The role requires strategic thinking, relationship building, presentation skills, negotiation, conflict resolution, project management, multi‑tasking, problem solving, communication, customer service, collaboration, travel, and a valid driver’s license.

Required Qualifications

2+ years of Plan Sponsor/Broker/Consultant Facing Experience

2+ Years of Group Medicare experience

Strong analytical and technical skills

Ability to think strategically and build meaningful relationships

Strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills Negotiation and Conflict resolution skills Project management and multi‑tasking skills

Problem solving ability and thinking outside of the box to find solutions for clients

Communication, customer service, and collaboration skills also crucial given the frequency of interacting with numerous internal HUM functional areas

Ability to travel

Must have life and health license for the state you reside or obtain within 60 days of employment

This role is part of Humana’s Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver’s license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred

Additional Information

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.

Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi‑weekly payment for their internet expense.

Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Travel While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana’s offices for training or meetings may be required.

Scheduled Weekly Hours 40

Pay Range $52,900 – $71,500 per year

This job is eligible for a commission incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
