Director of Engineering - civil/structural/geotechnical

Responsibilities Recruit, train, and mentor high-performing engineering talent Establish performance expectations and support career development pathways Align teams with organizational vision and strategic goals Research, evaluate, and develop new product offerings Improve and optimize existing solutions Oversee product testing, validation, and documentation Provide technical guidance to customers and internal stakeholders Develop technical resources for sales, marketing, and training teams Deliver presentations to engineers, specifiers, and clients Build and maintain strong customer relationships Lead commercial services strategy and long-term vision Drive revenue targets and departmental KPIs Qualifications Licenses: Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) – REQUIRED Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Experience: 8+ years in geotechnical/structural engineering Expertise in soil mechanics, deep foundation design, and building construction Leadership experience managing technical teams and setting vision Proficiency in modeling software (AutoCAD, Inventor) and materials expertise (steel, concrete) Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills Problem-solving mindset with ability to simplify complex concepts Willingness to travel occasionally across the U.S. and Canada
