Institutional & Specialty Sales Consultant, Cardiology
ROLE SUMMARY
The Institutional and Specialty Sales (ISS) team is seeking a proactive consultant to spearhead launch activities for our cardiovascular-renal portfolio. Your responsibilities will involve driving demand, educating healthcare professionals, and formulating strategic business plans for key institutions such as hospitals and health systems, as well as cardiologists and nephrologists. This role will report directly to the CVR Area General Manager (AGM) and will require close collaboration with marketing, market access, patient services, and other internal teams to achieve success in the US Pharma arena.
The role primarily covers the Chico, CA territory, including cities like Chico, Red Bluff, Redding, Eureka, McKinleyville, Crescent City, Yreka, Weed, Mt. Shasta, Susanville, and Yuba City. This is a residential position with travel expectations of up to 50% within the territory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive clinical demand and sales while deepening your knowledge of disease states, unmet needs, and treatment options. Educate healthcare providers and key stakeholders about the unique advantages of our products, focusing on both efficacy and safety.
Cultivate institutional advocacy to promote the acceptance of our cardiovascular-renal brands within formulary/pathway/protocols to ensure product availability.
Collaborate with both external and internal stakeholders to develop and implement strategic business plans based on a comprehensive understanding of local market dynamics.
Demonstrate expertise in the therapeutic area, competitive landscape, and cross-functional activities, equipped to analyze business opportunities and challenges.
Establish and maintain essential relationships with priority customers in the community, including senior executives and key healthcare professionals.
Guide the P&T committee processes at prioritized institutions.
Work closely with cross-functional and Area Customer Squads to develop and implement strategic initiatives with key stakeholders.
Assist Area General Managers with strategic projects as needed.
Embrace emerging technologies to boost performance, continuously seeking ways to enhance your skills.
Adhere to pharmaceutical industry guidelines and regulations, maintaining high ethical standards in all work activities.
WHO YOU ARE Bayer seeks candidates who possess the following: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree or 10 years of relevant sales experience in competitive environments in lieu of a degree.
Strong expertise in the cardiovascular and/or renal therapeutic areas.
Experience in launching new products and indications.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to facilitate discussions effectively.
Able to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Capable of complying with customer credentialing and safety requirements (e.g., maintaining up-to-date vaccinations and training).
A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Advanced degree, preferably in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a business-related field.
A minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical fields.
Prior experience selling within institutions and clinics, navigating the P&T committee process.
Experience with developing inpatient to outpatient protocols.
Employees can expect a salary range from $120,960 to $181,440, with additional compensation possibly including bonuses or commissions.
