The Special Collections & Recovery Unit is looking for an individual who is passionate and committed to State Fund's purpose and vision. This candidate will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating policies that have the potential to be litigated civilly or criminally. This position will require remote and/or in‑person court appearances. This position is ideal for a conscientious individual who is highly detail‑oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills. The ideal candidate is able to work effectively within Credit and Collections, and at all levels of the organization as well as with multiple outside collection agencies and attorneys. This position is best suited for those who are flexible and can easily adapt to change. Our ideal candidate has stellar reading, writing, editing, and verbal skills in order to: Successfully analyze and interpret data Present well‑researched and written analysis with recommendations Work effectively either independently or as part of a team Manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines Manage stressful situations while being firm but tactful Underwriting and/or Audit experience Quickly learn State Fund computer applications Microsoft Office Suite experience is desired The position will be filled in either of the following locations: Fresno, Sacramento, Vacaville, or Pleasanton. Frequent travel to courts may occasionally be from overnight to a few days in duration and may include, but not limited to, plane, bus, van, taxi, or car. Travel to various work sites and locations for training and/or meetings may be necessary. Will occasionally involve work in the evenings and departing on a regular scheduled day off. Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee’s monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period in accordance with the applicable bargaining contract. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.
