Description
The Property Claims Representative – Complex Loss will be responsible for handling a desk of high exposure and/or complex first-party commercial property claims, requiring excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and willingness to adapt to change. This position reports to the Property Claims Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities The Property Claims Representative will conduct investigations as they adjust 1st party property claims. The Adjuster’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Investigating losses to determine coverage and the extent of indemnity owed under the policy.
Retaining and managing outside vendors and experts as part of a quality claims investigation.
Obtaining and reviewing evidence, reports, and records.
Establishing appropriate reserves, as warranted throughout the claims investigation.
Processing expense and indemnity payments, as appropriate.
Maintaining an organized and efficient workflow, including keeping an active diary on each open claim file.
Providing superb customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Drafting detailed correspondence, including coverage position letters and reservation of rights letters.
Requirements
Qualifications Education, Experience, and Certifications:
At least 3 years of claims adjusting experience, preferably involving commercial property
AIC, CPCU, or similar designations are a plus
Basic math skills
Basic literacy in computer knowledge and use
Proficiency in Xactanalysis, Xactimate, and Xactcontents preferred
Skills and Abilities:
The ability to investigate facts, analyze problems, and draw appropriate conclusions based on knowledge and logic.
Self-motivated and able to work independently, while meeting assigned deadlines.
Maintain strict confidentiality.
Conscientious attention to detail.
Maintain positive and professional demeanor when interacting with internal and external customers.
