
Overview
Our client is a leading multinational engineering services provider and general contractor who specializes in mission critical turnkey solutions. Employing over 750 professionals and delivering leading-edge construction solutions across a range of key sectors including Data Centres, Healthcare, Life Sciences and Technology, Fire protection, Building Services, and Technical Support Services. They are currently looking for a Project Director to join them on a Data Centre project in Germany.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the successful delivery of complex data centre projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives, contractual obligations, and company goals.
- Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to handover, ensuring key milestones, quality standards, budgets, and timelines are achieved.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including construction, commercial, design, planning, procurement, and HSEQ functions, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client and key stakeholders, managing relationships, expectations, and communication to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Take full responsibility for project governance, commercial performance, risk management, and compliance with legal, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor project progress and proactively address any deviations, challenges, or risks through timely decision-making and corrective action in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Champion health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across the project, ensuring they are embedded into all aspects of planning and delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and best practices across project delivery, contributing to organisational learning and future project optimisation.
Qualifications
Degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field.
15+ years of experience in large-scale construction projects, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven ability to manage complex projects and teams in Germany or Europe.
Excellent project management skills, with experience in delivering projects on time and within budget.
Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
