
Application Administrator (Sales Tracking System)

Overview
Job Summary:
Serves as Application Administrator for a variety of Client Computing system software applications running on a variety of hardware environments. These applications support the overall user environment in areas such as but not limited to Identity Management, Service Desk applications, Asset Management, etc. Serves as a liaison between the Helpdesk system administrators, database administrators, and functional Client Computing users.
Duties and Responsibilities Incumbents of this position must be U.S. Citizens.
Installs and configures Client Computing support applications software.
Sets/Manages application parameters for Client Computing Support systems/software.
Administers incident, problem and change management capabilities that maximize analyst productivity and enhance responsiveness.
Ability to plan, test, and implement a production database environment.
Monitors performance and manages parameters to provide fast query responses to front-end users.
Writes application documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary.
Obtains regular monitoring and processing reports to check for errors, assess/analyze errors, and distinguish between database, application, and customized application problems.
Troubleshoots technical Client Computing application problems and coordinates resolution with other support groups.
Monitors, coordinates, and installs vendor provided software patches, security updates, cyclical releases, and major upgrades.
Maintains security compliance in accordance with DoD, PCI, PII, and other compliance requirements.
Demonstrates knowledge of software development lifecycle.
Assesses if existing architecture can support business and functional requirements.
Creates, designs, develops, analyzes, tests and modifies administrative scripts and batch files to automate processes.
Strong analytical skills and effective problem solving.
Excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Certifications and Requirements IAT1 Jobs
SECNAV M-5239.2 DoN, Information Assurance (IA) Workforce Manual requires that all incumbents possess and maintain current two types of certifications as follows:
IA Certification:
One of the following certifications: A+, Network+, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or one of the following higher level certifications: Security+, GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Security Expert (GSE), Security Certified Network Architect (SCNA).
NEXCOM preferred certification is Security+
Technical Certification:
MCDST, MCTS Windows 7 certification or any replacement certificate or exam that Microsoft may announce to replace Windows 7 Configuration Exam 680.
Certification must be valid (not expired) as defined by the policy of the certification issuer. Candidates without the required certification may be placed into this job, but must obtain the required certification within 6 months of appointment; failure to obtain the proper certification requirement will result in termination of employment.
This position is designated IT-2 (Non-critical Sensitive) in accordance with SECNAV M-5510.30 and will require a favorable Access National Agency Check and Inquiries (ANACI).
Qualified candidates must be U.S. Citizens.
Experience General Experience:
3 years experience in administrative, technical work, which demonstrated the ability and aptitudes required to perform technical or analytical work and coordination involving management information systems.
Substitution of Experience for Education:
One year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelor’s degree in a Business/Information Systems discipline for 3 years general experience.
Specialized Experience:
3 years total experience in the following: at least one specialized application (such as Asset Management, Help Desk Software, Identity Management, etc.) that supports an end-user environment; developing scripts, front-ends, and utilities that support End User applications and run on a relational MS SQL database; Web technologies including JavaScript, PHP, IIS, ASP scripting, XML, Visual Basic, and HTML scripting; and experience in defining and writing MS SQL stored queries and events.
Preferred Experience
The preferred candidate will have the following experience: 3 years progressive experience in STS, Oracle Retail Sales Audit, ReSA, Application Administrator, Applications, Unix, Linux, Information Technology, IT.
