Role Summary
Global CMC Automation & Robotics Leader is a senior program leadership role within Sanofi's CMC Data Sciences organization. You will define, lead, and execute the automation and robotics strategy across global CMC functions, build and lead a team of automation & robotics experts, and collaborate with automation leads and the Sanofi Digital team to drive an automation transformation in process development to reduce cycles, improve robustness, and increase productivity. Responsibilities
Define and implement a comprehensive strategy for lab automation & robotics across CMC, including platforms, mobile robots, co-bots, and humanoid robots Build and lead a team of advanced automation & robotics experts to support the CMC functions with their automation roadmap Support embedded Automation & Robotics teams with vendor alignment, Capex preparation, strategic hiring, and platform alignment across Global CMC Accelerate implementation of Automation & Robotics in Global CMC, demonstrating timeline acceleration and productivity Develop automation strategies, implement roadmaps, and track execution while delivering tangible business value Align the CMC strategy with initiatives across other Sanofi functions Collaborate with the Sanofi Digital team, leveraging technical expertise and participating in joint governance processes Qualifications
Required: 10+ years of experience in an industrial or laboratory setting with strong global project management capabilities Required: Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field (preference for Automation, Robotics, or Engineering Sciences with industrial applications) Preferred: Deep understanding of scheduling and orchestration software for laboratory automation Preferred: Demonstrated experience in managing change and transversal collaboration across projects Preferred: Experience with device drivers and integration (IVI-COM, IVI-D, RESTful, Virtual) and automation in industrial environments Preferred: Experience programming standard interface devices (Serial, PCI, I/O, ethernet, PCB, embedded computers) Preferred: Knowledge of SCARA, 6-axis, and Cartesian robots; experience with AGV fleets; robotics middleware integration Preferred: Advanced automation architecture design across ISA-95 levels and IIoT deployment; AI-driven robotics and perception systems Preferred: Global exposure and stakeholder management experience Skills
