JR100262**Job Title**Property Tax Processor I - C**Pay Rate**United States of America (Hourly)**Time Type**Full time**Summary****Duties and Responsibilities:*** Processes and updates property tax payments received by mail and walk-in* Researches and resolves routine property tax and refund issues* Sorts, counts and logs daily mail* Prepares refund memos regarding overpayments of property taxes* Assists taxpayer in the completion of property tax payment arrangements and updates account information* Issues tax certificates to appropriate individuals* Calculates taxes, refunds, penalties and interest and costs* Maintains files such as tax payment arrangements, mortgage documents and refund checks* Performs related duties as required**Minimum Qualifications:*** Graduation from High School or General Education Development (GED) certificate; and one (1) year office experience in a cash collections environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.* Knowledge of basic office procedures* Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; ability to communicate with diverse groups of individuals utilizing tact and diplomacy; ability to operate a personal computer, 10-key adding machine, typewriter and basic office equipment; ability to accurately enter data; ability to deal with hostile or irrational people; ability to understand and follow verbal instructions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other County employees and the general public* Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance* Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test* Must be able to maintain an effective attendance record/pattern* May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek**Working With Bexar County**Bexar County offers employees a competitive salary, retirement, and benefits.
