Purpose Responsible for coordinating the wellbeing of residents and supervising the nursing staff’s performance.
Essential Functions – Job Duties
Supervise nursing department, assign work, oversee medication administration, and document resident condition changes.
Provide instruction to nursing staff in.
Ensure resident comfort and wellbeing in accordance with policies, procedures, and individual care plans.
Conduct assessments, admissions, and discharges; verify medication orders; administer ordered medications and treatments.
Maintain resident service plans, charts, and treatment schedules; keep records accurate and current.
Assist physicians/CRNPs during rounds and coordinate continuity of care among nursing, administration, and other disciplines.
Order supplies, oversee new‑hire orientation, maintain safety and infection control practices, and manage staffing issues.
Serve as second in command of the building, supervising in the Executive Director’s absence.
Perform other duties as directed by the Executive Director.
Education & Knowledge Requirements
Current Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
CPR and First Aid Certification.
Essential Job‑Related Experience and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of supervision and resident care management principles.
Ability to maintain a therapeutic attitude toward residents, instruct staff, evaluate performance, and prepare reports.
Physical capability to lift, bend, stoop, push, pull or transport residents or supplies up to 75 pounds.
Exposure to Hazardous Conditions
Frequent exposure to blood and body fluids.
Occasional exposure to contaminated needle sticks.
Preferred Experience, Abilities, and Education
One year supervising nursing staff.
Basic computer skills for data entry and medication administration.
