Overview
What’s the Job?
Design industrial air-moving equipment conforming to customer specifications. Maintain manufacturing related data in the ERP business software, such as Bills of Materials. Communicate with other departments to ensure order requirements and deadlines are met. Respond to feedback from the customer and sales team by modifying designs as necessary. Responsibilities
Use specifications, sketches, and customer layout drawings to generate final documentation of fans and related air handling equipment, including certified prints for customer submittals. Documentation is produced in SolidWorks. Verify the dimensional integrity of parts and materials to be used, and the relationships of various parts to the whole structure or project. Create and maintain Bills of Materials related to designed assemblies in the ERP software. Process design corrections and change requests as required. Communicate with manufacturing personnel to resolve design and Bill of Materials related issues or questions. Communicate with sales personnel and other departments to resolve insufficient information on orders and other order-related issues. Process jobs requiring extensive layouts, visualization skills, and design calculations for all types of AirPro products. Demonstrate strong self-motivation and a commitment to continuous improvement. Provide informal mentoring to other team members by answering questions and encouraging an open communication culture. Use approved safety glasses, safety shoes and hearing protection when in the shop. Perform all job duties in a manner safe to self and others. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
High level of computer literacy Proficiency with SolidWorks, and SolidWorks PDM software Experience with 3D modeling and drawings Experience in entering items and Bills of Materials accurately into ERP program Ability to understand, communicate, and execute fan design principals and practices Execute assignments with instructions, specific tasks, and expected results, generally under minimal supervision Respond to and resolve inquiries from coworkers throughout the business Ability to understand most manufacturing processes Ability to design for manufacturability and efficiency An attitude of commitment to get tasks done on-time Work on multiple priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment Attention to detail and the ability to make a large quantity of decisions with a high level of accuracy Organizational and communication skills Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of the job, you may lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly move objects. Involves a variety of movements including sitting, standing, walking, and contorting as needed to work in awkward positions while working to understand and/or solve issues fully. The noise level is usually moderate to high. Majority of the work is done indoors. Job Duties & Skills
