What You'll Do You'll install or repair our residential products and services and aim to turn customer interactions into positive experiences. You'll work efficiently with a focus on quality. Here are your responsibilities:

Install, disconnect, and troubleshoot video, high-speed internet, telephony, and automation services.

Drive a company vehicle between office/home, warehouse, and work sites safely and in line with laws and company policies.

Monitor Cox's work enablement system for scheduling changes and current work assignments.

Communicate with the CommCenter for onsite support and routing assistance.

Educate customers about services and products.

Work under supervision and consult with supervisors and other technicians as needed.

Ensure service quality meets or exceeds industry and company performance standards.

Participate in team meetings as scheduled and attend job-related training.

Work with alarms, low voltage electricity, and color-coded wires.

Maintain accurate and high-quality recordkeeping of transactions.

Minimum

High School diploma/GED with generally less than 2 years of related experience; post-high school education a plus

18 years of age

Valid state driver's license and a good driving record

Ability to meet physical requirements for equipment and uniform use, and differentiate technical devices and color-coded components

Certifications and licenses as required by state and municipal laws

Background check requirements including any additional requirements for specialized projects/services

One year of work experience in a comparable field

Minimum of one year of direct customer service experience

PC and Windows software skills

Stable work history

Willingness to work required shifts and overtime (if necessary)

Travel as business needs dictate

Preferred

5+ years of experience in-service installation and repair in multiple service provider or telecommunications environments

Spanish proficiency desirable in some locations

Requirements

Ability to carry and use tools and equipment

Adequate ability to distinguish different colors of wire

Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and crawl

Ladder and fall protection equipment with specified weight limits (as described by the job)

Get in and out of a van to retrieve items; typical step heights are 19 inches

Lift up to 40 lbs rolls of cable and related items; lifts from floor to heights up to 36-47 inches as specified

Raise and lower a ladder rack; equipment and force requirements described

Crimp fittings onto coaxial cables with a hand tool

Ascend/descend ladders while wearing a tool belt

Lift and carry ladders and other equipment as needed

Ability to climb ladders and/or utility poles and work in high places

Work in small spaces, outdoors in varying weather, and in different locations

Compensation: hourly base pay rate is

$22.02 - $33.08/hour . The rate may vary based on location and candidate experience. Position may include additional compensation such as commissions or incentives.

Benefits Employees are eligible for a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off per month and seven paid holidays per year, with additional paid time off for bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteering, military leave, and parental leave.
