Overview The selected Heavy Civil Estimator will play a key role in winning public and private work in the local market with a heavy emphasis on DOT and infrastructure. Prior experience estimating heavy civil projects of similar size and scope for a self-performing contractor is required for serious consideration. Key Responsibilities

Assist the Chief Estimator and other team members with preparation of bid packages.

Review progress on projects and adjust schedules as needed.

Maintain and update database of relevant resources and historical data.

Keep records of all project details and documentation such as contracts, bids, and correspondence.

Determine initial production rates.

Estimate materials costs and labor hours needed to complete projects.

Solicit material and subcontractor pricing (subbing dry utilities, striping, landscape, signage).

Review finished products to ensure that they meet quality standards.

Work independently and as a member of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

5+ years of heavy civil estimating experience

Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Math or related discipline from an accredited institution

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specs to determine work requirements

Prior experience working with HCSS

Familiarity with Agtek

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage and prioritize competing deadlines

Compensation Package

Salary 100-145k (based on experience)
