The Sales Manager is responsible for managing a team of Business Development Managers to be successful in negotiating and closing business deals. They must have the ability to recruit, hire, onboard and mentor a sales team to achieve company sales goals and objectives while meeting company core values. They must display a high level of professionalism and knowledge of customary industry service and the PEO business model.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS

Recruit, hire, and train sales team

Set sales goals, compare performance to goals, and adjust goals as needed

Assess current team processes and procedures, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement them

Develop individual quotas and assign territories for team members

Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the sales team and manage the sales program accordingly

Manage, develop, coach, control and motivate the sales force to develop their skill to ensure that a high professional standard is achieved and monthly sales target and KPI target are met

Ensure targets are delivered through people management, performance review, reward and individual recognition

Provide on-the-ground support for sales associates as they generate leads and close new deals

Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of our company's relationship with them

Continually develop knowledge of the business climate, applications and competition for the defined geography and accounts

Complete and submit accurate sales reports by agreed upon dates.

Represent our company to clients and the community in a positive manner.

Continually develop technical, competitive, business and human resources knowledge.

Meet or exceed assigned monthly, quarterly and annual sales quotas.

Other projects added at leadership’s discretion.

WORK EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field

5 years of experience in sales

Proven ability to lead a team to meet quotas

Excellent leadership skills to successfully manage and develop a team

Results-oriented with strong analytical skills

Strong understanding of CRM systems and best practices

Experience with generating own leads and prospecting for business

Basic understanding of human resources

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills

Self-motivated and able to learn quickly

Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently

Strong attention to detail

Strong sense of ethics and good judgment

Able to work autonomously or with a group

Must possess and maintain a valid CA driver’s license

Able to travel during the day to different client and partner locations

Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office suite
