About the Role

The Vice President of Government Sales is the driving force behind Oritain’s expansion into the Federal Government sector—forging the relationships and shaping a market presence that sets the standard for trust, scientific rigor, and national impact. Through disciplined, hands-on ownership of complex sales opportunities, the role is accountable for cultivating relationships, navigating government procurement processes, and converting pipeline into contracted revenue with consistency and rigour. Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Executive Director- Government & Regulatory Affair, you'll own the full government sales lifecycle from qualified lead through to contract close, driving disciplined pipeline progression, accurate forecasting, and timely conversion across long and complex Federal sales cycles. You’ll lead on shaping capture plans, stakeholder engagement, win themes, and competitive positioning, while partnering with technical, legal, and commercial teams to deliver compliant, high-quality proposals and bids. As the commercial owner of active Federal opportunities, you’ll bring clarity to scope, pricing, risk, and contractual terms, underpinned by a strong working knowledge of Federal acquisition pathways and regulatory frameworks. You’ll continuously improve sales processes and pipeline governance, collaborate cross-functionally to assess fit and viability, build trusted relationships with government buyers and contracting officers, and feed market insight back into product and go-to-market strategy. Skills & Experience

Significant experience selling into the U.S. Federal Government is essential, with a strong command of procurement processes, contracting vehicles, and acquisition pathways, and a proven track record of progressing and closing complex opportunities across full sales lifecycles. You bring deep familiarity with FAR/DFAR, GSA schedules, IDIQs, and related frameworks, and operate with structured, process-driven sales discipline to manage and convert a robust government pipeline. You demonstrate sound commercial judgement and the credibility to engage confidently with senior government stakeholders, are highly organised in opportunity management, forecasting, and use of CRM tools, and are comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor with direct ownership of outcomes. A collaborative mindset and ability to influence across legal, technical, finance, and delivery teams is critical, along with U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance. Package
