Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions isseeking anexperienced Cloud Architect tojoin ahigh-performing team developing cloud-based solutions for the Retail industry. Inthis role, you will beresponsible for designing, developing, and implementing cloud-based architectures and solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise incloud computing and aproven track record ofdeveloping scalable and reliable cloud-based systems. You will work closely with our development teams tocreate high-level and detailed technical design documents, build cloud prototypes, and conduct experiments toevaluate alternative architectures. Responsibilities
The Cloud Architect must have abroad technical background with extensive experience indesigning, deploying, and supporting cloud-based solutions. The candidate must have strong cloud technology and analytical skills, teamwork, and excellent communication skills. The candidate will also need tocommunicate atdifferent levels inthe organisation with other technical roles, business leaders, and customers. The candidate will participate inthe Architectural Review Boards with technical leaders across the organisation toensure technical alignment, consistent design principles, architectural roadmaps, conceptual architecture documents, practices, tools, and technologies. They will cement solid, reliable, and scalable cloud solutions for our customers. Generate internal white papers onstandard design and approaches. Collaborate with the infrastructure team and product managers todesign cloud solutions. Perform code contributions, code reviews, and maintain high coding and quality standards. Research innovative cloud technologies, best practices, and current industry trends, and facilitate their adoption bythe team. Ensure quality and efficiency ofthe cloud architecture and the source code. Interact with stakeholders such astechnical project managers and product managers asappropriate todiscuss product functionality, performance, plans, and field support escalations. Identify and resolve problems, gaps, and challenges inthe cloud engineering processes. Evaluate and recommend Azure services and tools tomeet business needs. Perform other related duties asassigned. Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree incomputer science orrelated field. 7+years ofexperience building and supporting cloud-based systems. Deep knowledge ofcloud platforms (Azure isamust, AWS orGoogle Cloud Platform isnice tohave) and the ability tomanage highly available and scalable infrastructure. Strong expertise inautomation tools and practices (CI/CD pipelines such asJenkins, IaC tools such asTerraform). Solid understanding ofcontainers and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless computing. Hands-on experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability tools (Datadog isamust, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc. are optional). Experience inscripting tools, such asPython, Bash orPowerShell Knowledge ofcost optimisation strategies for cloud infrastructure. Strong experience with large-scale distributed systems and high-availability architectures. Strong experience with multi-region, multi-cloud deployments. Knowledge ofcloud security principles and identity management (Azure AD, RBAC). Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability towork effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and customers. Good knowledge ofLinux/Unix systems administration and networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing). Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability tocollaborate across teams and functions. Preferred Skills
