
Summary
The purpose of this position is to develop and implement a communications, public relations and marketing plan, along with necessary marketing, graphic design, advertising and media content, leading the development and launch of marketing/social media campaigns, and managing website content and appearance for multiple sites.
Essential Functions
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.
Develops communication and public relations plan and a marketing plan for investment in Downtown, to include brand management, website and social media content as well as print collateral.
Collaborates with leadership to develop communications and marketing to meet goals, drive brand recognition, and write copy and messages for print material and digital content.
Provides art direction, overseeing graphic design consultants.
Develops customized templates and material.
Writes, edits, and reviews content for marketing and communication materials, including advertisements, brochures, fliers and other collateral.
Develops, produces, and edits content for Web and collateral materials.
Supports research efforts that underpin marketing strategies.
Communicates clear direction through written and verbal communication and manages for results.
Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related discipline.
Five (5) years of experience in web management, copy writing, graphic layout and design, social media marketing or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Physical Demands
Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
