Serco has an exciting opportunity for an Executive Assistant/Office Manager (EA/OM) to support an active U.S. Navy contract in Washington, DC. The EA/OM will provide programmatic support to the Virginia Class Submarine Program Office (PMS450) and the U.S. Navy’s Team Submarine Program Offices at the Washington Navy Yard. This role offers the chance to work on the acquisition of new nuclear‑powered attack submarines, support the development of improved procurement processes, and manage day‑to‑day operations in a fast‑paced environment. The position is on‑site at the Washington Navy Yard and requires an understanding of program office functions, strong communication skills, and the ability to interact with senior commanders and congressional staffers. In This Role, You Will
Provide counsel to a senior Navy executive (O‑6/GS‑15). Oversee daily operations of a complex NAVSEA program organization. Lead clerical, administrative, logistical, and IT personnel. Facilitate development and revision of work procedures and standards. Plan and accomplish goals with minimal supervision. Ensure compliance with program office standards. Manage office operations including scheduling, correspondence, filing, and data entry. Prepare, proofread, and edit documents, presentations, and reports. Coordinate meetings, take minutes, and track action items. Arrange travel logistics and process expense reports. Serve as point of contact for internal and external communications. Provide project assistance and maintain project documentation. Maintain accurate records and databases. Manage office supplies inventory. To Be Successful In This Role, You Will
Obtain a Secret clearance. Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience). Have 5+ years’ experience in a government or defense environment. Have 2+ years of supervisory experience in an office setting. Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills. Show strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization abilities. Work independently and as a team player. Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software. Interact with senior management on complex technical issues. Adapt to short, multiple deadlines. Be willing to work at the Navy Yard five days a week (except for government holidays). Additional Desired Experience And Skills
Experience in submarine community as a senior enlisted member. Executive assistant experience supporting an SES or flag officer. Active NMCI/Flankspeed account and CAC. Work experience in the Navy, especially Team Submarine. Knowledge of DoD policies and NAVSEA procedures. Active NNPI account and CAC. 10+ years of experience with Navy acquisition and submarine programs. Project leadership and customer interfacing experience. Understanding of acquisition process, budgeting, and program execution. Active‑duty submarine or yeoman service preferred. Recent Team Submarine experience desirable. Preferred familiarity with government contracting and document management systems. Company Overview
