Overview

The Role: At Green Thumb Industries and RISE Dispensaries, the first impression matters. As an Asset Protection Specialist (APS), you’re the warm, welcoming face of the dispensary and a key part of creating an elevated, concierge-style experience for our guests. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy connecting with others, maintaining physical readiness to act with urgency, and ensuring everyone feels safe, respected, and cared for. This is not your traditional security role. It combines hospitality, customer service, and safety leadership to enhance the customer journey and team member experience. APS are active, professional, and approachable stewards of our culture, safety, and brand values. Key Responsibilities

Welcoming & Check-In Experience: Be the first smiling face guests see—greet all visitors with warmth and positivity; manage check‑in with professionalism and efficiency while upholding compliance standards; set the “RISE Vibe” from the moment customers enter our doors; provide basic concierge-level support by answering common questions and directing traffic. Safety, Security & Support: Serve as a visible, approachable, and responsive presence to deter incidents and maintain a sense of calm; monitor areas of the premises including store entry/exit and site perimeters to ensure safety, comfort, and compliance; de-escalate situations with empathy, tact, and clear communication; support team members and store operations in safety, cleanliness, compliance, and guest flow; escort customers and visitors and stay alert and mobile; report and respond to safety, security, or compliance incidents; support emergency procedures and preparedness (fire, evacuation, weather); conduct visual inspections to maintain a secure, hazard-free environment. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with store teams, leadership, and customers; share insights on guest interactions, safety concerns, and security risks with transparency and discretion; assist in training new APS team members to model warm, professional, and compliant behavior; perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

At least one year of customer-facing or concierge experience is strongly preferred. Familiarity with POS systems and/or compliance technology is preferred. Security, military, or law enforcement experience is a plus when paired with a strong commitment to guest-first, hospitality-focused service. Must meet scheduling and availability requirements (ability to work mornings, days, nights, weekends). Reliable, responsible, and dependable attendance. Must pass all required background checks including state cannabis employment requirements. Possess valid driver’s license or state ID. Must be 21 years or older and meet state cannabis employment requirements. Must be compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry. Additional Requirements

Ability to perform tasks for prolonged periods (up to the duration of a shift). Remain alert and responsive during extended periods; move about the dispensary to assist patients/customers in various locations; may need to stay stationary to meet business needs. Converse and communicate with individuals and groups directly. Operate point of sale system, computer, and office productivity software (word processing, databases, spreadsheets, email). Inspect and process detailed information such as patient/customer dates of birth, order information, or inquiries. Move inventory and materials weighing up to 30 pounds; position self to access storage areas. Stand or walk for extended periods, indoors and outdoors; maintain a visible and mobile presence throughout the shift. Skills

Friendly, professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and empathetic in stressful situations. Consistent demonstration of excellent customer service skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees. Effective listening and communication skills, both verbal and written, with diverse audiences. Understanding of applicable cannabis laws, safety regulations, local codes, and standard operating procedures. Ability to follow instructions and incorporate feedback from managers. Professional integrity, including handling confidential information and HIPAA considerations. Working Conditions

Engaging, fast-paced patient and customer-facing retail environment. Outdoor duties in varying weather conditions may be required. The pay range is competitive and based on experience and location; positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance. Green Thumb Pay Range: $20—$21 USD
