Serve as a primary point of contact for customers and outside sales representatives via phone and in the showroom. Assist customers with product selection, pricing, quotations, order placement, issue resolution, and delivery coordination. Proactively engage customers to identify sales opportunities and support individual and team sales goals. Represent assigned outside sales representatives during absences to ensure continuity of service. Prepare accurate material take‑offs for residential construction projects, including single‑family and multi‑family homes. Analyze and size lumber and building products using designated software tools. Coordinate special‑order products, including pricing, availability, and delivery timelines. Accurately enter orders, pricing, and customer information into company systems. Generate invoices, work orders, and sales tickets with a high degree of accuracy. Support builder and contractor accounts in close coordination with outside sales teams. Assist with returns, credits, and payment research as needed. Showroom & Operational Support
Deliver consistent, professional service to walk‑in and scheduled showroom customers. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional showroom environment. Guide product selections using established procedures to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction. Maintain a personal follow‑up system for quotes and active orders. Assist with physical inventory counts and showroom maintenance. Stay current on product knowledge through training sessions, meetings, and ongoing education. Participate in trade events and industry associations as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned by location management. Qualifications
High school diploma required; college coursework or degree preferred Prior experience in building materials, construction, or a related industry required Strong customer service orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven ability to multitask, remain organized, and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, and experience with data entry systems Ability to read and understand basic construction documents and blueprints preferred Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds
