Sr. Director, Governance and IT Risk is a strategic and disciplined role that will lead enterprise-wide technology governance, risk oversight, and architectural alignment. This role will lead teams that oversee IT governance frameworks, financial and project time tracking, IT risk management, and enterprise architecture governance; ensuring that technology investments are well-managed, accountable, secure, and aligned with MFS Strategy. This is a leadership role requiring cross-functional influence, organizational rigor, and the ability to lead through complexity while enabling innovation and operational excellence. What You Will Do
Lead technology governance frameworks that ensure accountability, transparency, and alignment with the MFS Strategy and regulatory expectations. Oversee time tracking and financial management processes across technology teams, including billable/non-billable time, capacity planning, and cost recovery alignment to project and operational activities. Lead proactive identification, assessment, and mitigation of IT risks in partnership with enterprise risk and cybersecurity. Maintain oversight of risk registers, control testing, and compliance tracking in accordance with internal and external requirements. Guide enterprise architecture strategy and governance, ensuring consistency in technology standards, solution design, and architectural alignment with enterprise goals. Build strong partnerships across IT, Finance, Legal, Risk, Operations, and Audit teams. Provide clear, data-driven reporting to executive leadership and governance committees. Drive continuous improvement in governance processes, risk management tools, architecture reviews, and resource tracking systems. What We Are Looking For
15+ years of experience in enterprise technology with at least 8 years in leadership roles related to governance, IT risk, or enterprise architecture. Proven ability to lead through influence, navigate complex matrixed environments, and drive accountability at scale. Deep knowledge of IT governance frameworks (e.g. ITIL), risk and compliance principles, and architectural governance practices. Strong understanding of financial management processes related to technology resource planning and time tracking. Strategic communication expertise with a track record of working effectively with senior leadership, auditors, and regulators. Experience in financial services or regulated environment. Preferred Skills, Qualifications & Experience
