Overview

Responsible for establishing, leading, and continuously enhancing the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework and governance across the organization. Provides executive leadership for enterprise-wide risk programs, including risk governance, Line of Defense implementation, policy and procedure management, issue management, internal controls, risk assessment, monitoring and testing, business continuity, records management, privacy, and employee hotline oversight. Serves as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, the Board, and regulators, ensuring alignment of risk appetite, enterprise strategy, and regulatory expectations. Responsibilities

Provides executive leadership and strategic direction for the Enterprise Risk Management program, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, regulatory requirements, and Board-approved risk appetite. Establishes and maintains ERM governance frameworks, including policies, procedures, committees, and escalation protocols, to promote consistent and effective risk management practices across the enterprise. Leads the design, execution, and oversight of the ERM Committee and supports Board and Audit Committee risk oversight through clear, actionable reporting, dashboards, and key risk indicators (KRIs). Oversees enterprise-wide risk assessment, internal control, and process mapping activities, ensuring risks are identified, measured, monitored, and reported in a consistent and integrated manner. Directs the implementation and maturity of the Line of Defense model, clarifying roles and accountability across first, second, and third lines, and driving enterprise-wide education and adoption. Leads enterprise issue management and remediation programs, including root cause analysis, corrective action plans, customer remediation, and executive-level reporting on risk issues and trends. Oversees the design and execution of key risk programs, including Business Continuity Management, Records Management, Privacy, and employee ethics and hotline programs. Drives enhancement of risk-based monitoring and testing programs, leveraging data, analytics, and GRC tools to strengthen risk insight and early identification of emerging risks. Partners with business leaders and control functions to provide credible challenge, risk advisory support, and guidance on complex risk matters, new initiatives, and strategic decisions. Supports and enhances third-party and counterparty risk management programs, ensuring appropriate oversight of vendor, partner, and counterparty exposures. Engages directly with regulators and external stakeholders, representing the organization on enterprise risk matters and supporting examinations, audits, and regulatory inquiries. Builds, leads, and develops high-performing teams, fostering a strong risk culture, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization. Provides executive-level risk reporting and insights to senior management and the Board, highlighting key risk trends, emerging risks, and areas requiring strategic attention. Performs other duties and projects assigned. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Risk Management, Business, or a related field ; Master’s degree strongly preferred. Minimum twelve ( 12 ) + years of progressive experience within the financial services industry, with increasing responsibility in risk management or related leadership roles. Eight (8 ) + years’ experience in risk-related roles within the financial services industry. Five (5) + years’ experience with ERM programs and the key elements, systems, and activities. Five (5) + years’ experience with Line of Defense model implementation and improvements. Five (5) + years’ experience working directly with regulators and industry activity. Five (5) + years’ experience directly or indirectly managing a team. Experience in various risk disciplines is preferred. Experience in mortgage industry is preferred. Professional risk, compliance, or governance certifications (e.g., CRMP, CRCM, FRM, CPA, CIA, CISA) preferred. Why work for #teamloanDepot

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay for this role is between $137,000 and $240,500. Your base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors, including your job-related knowledge/skills, qualifications, experience, and market location.
