Role Summary

The Senior (or) Medical Science Liaison for North Central will establish collaborations with external healthcare professionals, thought leaders, and institutions to share and discuss evidence-based medical information about BioNTech’s oncology/solid tumor R&D portfolio. You will represent BioNTech’s Oncology Medical Affairs team, deliver medical education and updates, and gain insights from U.S. healthcare professionals. You will also support clinical trial sites and opportunities aligned with the oncology strategy and communicate actionable field insights to internal stakeholders. Responsibilities

Develop and execute a strategic vision for the territory, including mapping key accounts and planning impactful medical engagements aligned with medical objectives. Cultivate partnerships with academic centers, centers of excellence, and integrated care systems to drive regional impact. Act as a member of BioNTech\'s US field-based scientific/medical expert team delivering medical education and updates and gaining insights from U.S. healthcare professionals. Develop partnerships with investigators, thought leaders, and healthcare professionals through scientific, evidence-based communication and education. Support and identify U.S. clinical trial sites and opportunities aligned with the overall oncology strategy. Document and communicate actionable insights collected in the field to relevant internal stakeholders. Provide input, support, and/or attendance at prioritized oncology conferences, medical educational programs, advisory boards, and trainings. Ensure timely and accurate documentation of interactions, and compliance and safety reporting aligned with local policies. Qualifications

Required:

Advanced scientific degree (PharmD, MD/DO, or PhD) with 3–5+ years of oncology MSL or comparable customer-facing industry/clinical experience. Required:

Working therapeutic knowledge of gynecologic malignancies/breast cancer with an established HCP/external expert network. Preferred:

Location preferences: Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis. Required:

External customer focus with strong networking capabilities and engagement with the medical/scientific community. Required:

Excellent collaboration, networking, presentation, and communication skills and a proven track record of cross-functional teamwork. Required:

Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt priorities, and understand clinical trials/protocols and the drug development lifecycle. Required:

Commitment to high ethical standards with knowledge of clinical regulations and industry standards (GCP, PhRMA Code). Required:

Proficiency with remote collaboration tools (MS Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Office 365). Required:

Willingness and ability for frequent travel within the territory (50–70%). Education

Advanced scientific degree (PharmD, MD/DO, or PhD) required; PhD/MD/DO or PharmD preferred. Skills

Strong scientific communication and ability to translate complex evidence into actionable medical education. Effective stakeholder management and relationship-building within academic centers and healthcare systems. Proficiency with data presentation, medical writing, and documentation of field insights. Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Additional Requirements

Frequent travel within the North Central territory (50–70%).
