Role Summary
The Senior/Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based role serving as the primary contact for current and future clinical investigators, speakers, and healthcare providers on clinical and scientific issues. This position requires strategic thinking, strong collaboration with internal stakeholders, and the ability to communicate complex medical information effectively in a compliant manner. The role supports investigators, ILD and transplant centers, and internal Medical Affairs teams to advance scientific understanding and company medical strategy. Responsibilities
Respond to unsolicited requests for information beyond promotional use, in line with company policy on disseminating scientific information Serve as the primary contact between ILD and transplant centers and internal departments for company and investigator-initiated studies, ensuring scientific validity and alignment with medical strategy Establish and maintain relationships with current and prospective thought leaders, engage in discussions on publication concepts and advisory boards, and respond to grant requests and CME educational endeavors Provide medical and scientific training and support to internal stakeholders, including clinical research associates, field sales teams, and marketing teams Manage project work related to Medical Affairs activities, contribute to departmental infrastructure (e.g., SOP development), and identify opportunities to enhance workflows Qualifications
Required: NP, PA, Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or MD Required: 6+ years in biotech/pharmaceutical industry or appropriate clinical setting with a Master's Degree Required: 2+ years in biotech/pharmaceutical industry or appropriate clinical setting with a PharmD, PhD, or MD Required: 3+ years of clinical experience in cardiovascular, respiratory, pulmonary, or related disease states (advanced degree may be considered for relevant experience) or 1+ years as an MSL or equivalent Required: Ability to convey scientific and medical information verbally and in writing to diverse audiences across settings Required: Strong teamwork, planning, communication, and organizational skills Required: Demonstrated ability to proactively drive initiatives and innovate solutions Required: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Required: Expert level of scientific knowledge; strong presentation, facilitation, and instructional skills Required: Ability to travel up to 80% Senior MSL: Required: NP, PA, PharmD, PhD or MD; 8+ years in industry with Master's or 5+ years with PharmD/PhD/MD; 3+ years in PAH, PH-ILD, or transplant; 2+ years as an MSL Preferred: Ability to work independently, adapt to changing demands and processes Preferred: Demonstrated commitment to high performance; adept at multitasking, prioritization, and results-oriented work Skills
