Role Summary
Director, R&D Finance - FP&A responsible for leading budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for assigned Development Functions, delivering high-impact financial analysis, and guiding decision-making across OPEX, headcount, and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for assigned Development Functions. Oversee monthly close activities, including accruals, reclasses, and variance analysis. Deliver high-impact financial analysis and insights to support decision-making for OPEX, headcount, and strategic initiatives. Prepare and present monthly/quarterly financial reports to R&D and Finance leadership. Collaborate with business partners and FP&A colleagues to ensure alignment and completeness of financial submissions. Drive process improvements and leverage financial systems (e.g., SAP) to streamline data collection and reporting. Support and/or lead ad-hoc projects, scenario modeling, and business case development. Monitor key performance indicators, analyze trends, and proactively address risks and opportunities. Manage, mentor, and develop finance staff, fostering a culture of inclusion, accountability, and growth. Qualifications
Required: 12+ Years with BS/BA OR 10+ Years with MS/MA or MBA. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred. Preferred: 12+ years of relevant FP&A experience with increasing responsibility; biotech/pharma or R&D finance experience strongly preferred. Preferred: Proven track record of supporting business partners and driving financial performance. Preferred: Experience with US GAAP, planning/ERP systems, and financial reporting. Preferred: People management experience a plus. Skills
