Role Summary
The Senior Director of Supply Chain at the Indianapolis API site leads the site’s supply chain, warehousing, and logistics organization to enable reliable product supply to customers. The role is responsible for supply chain planning, purchasing, customer service, logistics, and SAP master data and system support in addition to warehousing operations and internal logistics. It converts forecasts into integrated production plans with optimal inventories and contingencies, maintains inventory and safety stock strategies, and ensures regulatory compliance. The role also develops staff capabilities through leadership and training and collaborates with the Global Supply Chain organization. Based in Indianapolis, IN. Responsibilities
Develop the business processes and lead the materials and production planning functions for the site. Oversee supply chain meetings to ensure production availability, shipment schedule, and resolution of delays/shortages. Establish and maintain supply and demand planning tools for scenario evaluation in cross-functional collaboration, including trackers and dashboards for communication to broader team to advise and inform manufacturing strategies and decisions. Owns the planning process for the site and integrate Supply Chain requirements into yearly strategic plan and business plan processes. Network globally to share best practices in order to ensure harmonization and alignment between sites. Identify gaps and inefficiencies for improvement. Ensure appropriate governance of master data (materials, BOMs, recipes, resources) throughout the site. Have oversight and responsibility for the day to day logistics and warehouse operations at the site. Maintain a safe working environment and conduct Warehouse/logistics activities in a manner that protects safety, environment and quality. Support and provide leadership to the area through site inspections. Serve as the key point of contact for the Global Supply Chain organization. Ensure robust processes are in place for buying/planning in order to meet production requirements; own the safety stock strategy for site materials. Develop process metrics and KPIs that measure effectiveness of planning process, provide visibility to improvement opportunities, and track progress of initiatives and goals. Have oversight of supply chain and vendor related technical issues and improvement initiatives in partnership with procurement team. Work cross functionally across the site lead team to ensure business processes and supply chain/warehousing execution support day to day production and long term business goals. Interact with regulators, customers, or other outside stakeholders on business issues or in support of internal and external agency audits. Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree Required: 5+ years of experience supporting regulated GMP manufacturing operations, preferably in a supply chain capacity Required: 5+ years of leadership experience Preferred: Experience with planning processes, such as demand management, forecasting tools, forecasting processes, manufacturing orders, bills of materials, etc Preferred: Ability to work with a team, make independent decisions, and influence diverse groups Preferred: Ability to instill teamwork within the department and demonstrate key interpersonal skills Preferred: Ability to provide innovative solutions to plant, divisional, and corporate issues and leverage ideas from other functional areas Education
