Responsibilities

The Sr. Director of Global Portfolio Strategy will drive the overarching strategic direction of the company’s product portfolio, ensuring alignment with market demands, competitive dynamics, and long-term business objectives. This leader will orchestrate the development of portfolio strategies, market prioritization frameworks, as well as lifecycle and transitions management, facilitating collaboration across regional and functional teams. They will play a pivotal role in identifying growth opportunities, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring strategic focus across the product lifecycle and the markets. The ideal candidate is a visionary strategist with a proven track record in portfolio management, deep product marketing and market analytics expertise, and a proven track record in influencing teams and cross-functional leadership. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.

Define and implement global portfolio strategies to ensure alignment with company objectives and market opportunities. Develop decision frameworks for portfolio management, including resource allocation and market entry/exit strategies. Lead the creation of comprehensive business cases for new portfolio initiatives, integrating market insights, clinical trends, and financial modeling. Support the development of rigorous market segmentation, financial and competitive analyses to prioritize investments and shape the innovation roadmap. Develop and oversee portfolio governance processes to prioritize initiatives and ensure alignment with strategic goals. Monitor the progress of ongoing portfolio programs, ensuring the balance between sustaining initiatives, clinical development, and new product innovation. Facilitate decision-making to adapt portfolio priorities based on performance metrics and strategic imperatives. Strategic Planning Management

Establish and lead a five-year annual strategic planning process, grounded in funded portfolio programs. Define and communicate strategic planning frameworks to align teams around long-term objectives. Oversee the integration of portfolio strategies into broader organizational plans, ensuring actionable execution pathways. Market Insights and Analytics

Translate data into actionable portfolio strategies that address both near-term opportunities and long-term positioning. Help establish systems for gathering and synthesizing global market intelligence, including competitive benchmarking, customer needs analysis, and emerging trends. Maintain a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging data-driven decision-making to refine portfolio performance. Change Management

Identify and champion transformative opportunities to diversify or divest the portfolio in alignment with future market needs. Collaborate with R&D, product marketing, commercial, regulatory, and clinical teams to ensure teams continue to innovate to meet market requirements and compliance standards. Act as a liaison between upstream and downstream functions, bridging product innovation with market execution strategies. Collaboration and Execution

Build strong partnerships with functional leaders to ensure seamless execution of portfolio strategies across geographies. Provide thought leadership to align stakeholders around a unified portfolio vision, fostering collaboration and driving accountability. Work closely with marketing, sales, and operational teams to ensure portfolio strategies are well-integrated into regional execution plans. Qualifications

Education Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business, Marketing, or a related field Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MPH) preferred. Experience 10+ years of experience in portfolio management, upstream marketing or management consulting with relevant experience in energy-based technologies and medical aesthetics. Demonstrated success in driving global product innovation and strategy development. Experience collaborating with cross-functional and regional teams in a global organization. Skills Exceptional strategic thinking, with the ability to distill complexity into actionable strategies. Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to synthesize market data into insights. Expertise in product lifecycle management, from concept development to market strategy handoff and eventually product sunsetting. Problem-solver with a proactive approach, outstanding collaboration and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build trust and alignment across functions and geographies. Adept at creating and presenting impactful, executive-level business cases and strategic frameworks. Comfortable in international environments with appreciation for diversity of thought. Knowledge of global regulatory environments (e.g., FDA, CE) and their implications on product strategy. Physical Demands
