Role Summary
The Director, Digital Capability Lead is a techno-functional leadership role within the Value Chain Management (VCM) organization of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Supply Chain. This position leads digital capability strategy and transformation across the end-to-end pharmaceutical supply chain, with a focus on global digital product lifecycle management, and manages a team of direct reports and contractors. The role blends strategic vision with hands-on execution to drive adoption, governance, and measurable value across digital programs. Responsibilities
Strategic Digital Capability Leadership for VCM: Shape the vision and strategy for digital capabilities, govern the product lifecycle from discovery to scaling, and manage budgets and digital planning cycles to ensure measurable impact. Digital Value Chain Program Leadership: Develop One Digital Value Chain by integrating digital tools into a unified ecosystem, architect an end-to-end supply chain data repository, and drive adoption of simulation-enabled decision frameworks with governance and sustained value. One Performance Management Leadership: Design, build, deploy, and sustain a connected performance management capability; define KPIs, enable actionable leadership insights, and align with transformation goals. Customer Management and Change Enablement: Partner with VCM, Digital & Data Strategy, Plan, Manufacturing & Technical Operations, Quality, Deliver, and others; influence decision-making and lead organizational change to drive adoption and capability maturity. Talent & Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of digital capability specialists, product owners, and transformation leaders; build a network of digital ambassadors and SMEs; foster collaboration and a growth mindset. Innovation & Thought Leadership: Advance technology architecture and deploy capabilities (e.g., AI) in collaboration with internal/external teams; represent Johnson & Johnson in external and internal forums. Qualifications
Education
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred. Experience and Skills
Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience. Demonstrated experience in Supply Chain, Operations, or Digital Transformation roles. Deep understanding of supply chain networks, product launches, site selection, and/or lifecycle planning. Proven leadership in developing high-performing, cross-functional teams and building partnerships. Strong business sense, strategic insight, and ability to translate vision into tangible deliverables. Ability to leverage data and customer insights to drive impactful improvements and influence the broader environment. Experience influencing and partnering across interpersonal boundaries and communicating at all levels. Skills
Digital product lifecycle management and/or global capability ownership (preferred). Digital transformation leadership and customer alignment in a global environment (preferred). Pharmaceutical industry experience (preferred). Familiarity with Generative AI tools and improving digital capabilities (preferred). Education

English proficiency (written and verbal) to communicate effectively. Up to 20% domestic and international travel may be required depending on location and business needs. On-site work is required a minimum of three days per week, with up to two remote workdays per week available.
