Chipton-Ross is seeking a Designer 4 for a contract opportunity in Pascagoula, MS.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): Associate's degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years' experience. A combination of experience and education may be substituted in lieu of degree.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications. Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments. Seeking an individual who is proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and Word. Applicant will be directly involved in electrical design and development of drawings associated with ship modification and overhauls. Applicant will be responsible for following applicable drawings procedures and standards. Applicant will also be responsible for locating, interpreting and applying government and vendor-furnished information and technical data into during development of functional electrical design drawings. Travel to numerous Naval Bases will be required to support pier side shipchecking and surveys.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): Candidate proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and Word. Familiarity with US Navy electrical arrangements and cableways preferred. One that possess an understanding in ship design and blueprint reading. Travel to numerous Naval Bases will be required to support pier side shipchecking and surveys.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Associate degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline.

WORK HOURS: Full-Time 5/40, workweek.
