Job Title: Truss Designer (Roof & Floor Trusses)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Truss Designer to join our team, specializing in the design of roof and floor truss systems for custom single-family homes. The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of hands-on experience using Alpine Design software and a strong understanding of residential construction, structural principles, and design coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Design roof and floor truss systems for custom single-family residential projects using Alpine Design software

Interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and building codes

Develop accurate truss layouts, profiles, and placement plans that meet project requirements

Coordinate with architects, engineers, builders, and internal teams to resolve design challenges

Ensure truss designs comply with applicable building codes, engineering standards, and company guidelines

Revise designs as needed based on plan changes, field conditions, or customer feedback

Provide technical support related to truss design, loads, spans, and installation considerations

Maintain organized project files and documentation for all designs

Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years of experience designing residential roof and floor trusses

Proficiency with Alpine Design software (strongly preferred)

Experience designing truss systems for custom single-family homes

Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and structural design principles

Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans

Familiarity with applicable building codes and load requirements

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

Truss Technician Certification (TTC) or similar industry certification

Experience working with high-end or complex custom home designs

Knowledge of local or regional building codes
