ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

SUMMARY: C urrently seeking a creative, detail-oriented Student Graphic Design Assistant to join our Marketing team. Under the direction of the Marketing Manager, the student assistant will contribute to a wide range of design projects that support and promote CPPE's units including the Bronco Bookstore, Dining Services, Kellogg West, and more.

This is a valuable opportunity for students to gain real-world experience in a flexible and collaborative environment while building a professional design portfolio. The role offers exposure to both print and digital design work and provides meaningful contributions to campus-wide initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a proactive visual communicator with strong design skills, a marketing mindset, and a desire to grow through hands-on learning.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

• Design marketing materials in print and digital formats such as signage, flyers, promotional graphics, and more

• Collaborate with internal teams and campus partners to support unit branding and campaigns

• Help maintain and update marketing signage across campus

• Performs other marketing-related duties as assigned

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must be enrolled as a full-time student at Cal Poly Pomona

• Pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Marketing, Communications, or a related field

• Strong skills in graphic design and a familiarity with design principles

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Has a team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and receive feedback

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience designing materials for marketing purposes (e.g., promotional flyers, advertisements, event signage, advertisements, social media graphics)

• Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator

• Portfolio or work samples showcasing relevant design projects (highly encouraged)

ABOUT US : As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Foundation offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality1500 management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study.

The Foundation also contributes operating support to nearly 1,100 Foundation and scholarship programs every year, including Bronco Athletics and the Norman J. Priest Scholarship. In addition, the Foundation administers grants and contracts, contributes to campus security, and supports several university publications. The Foundation contributes over $1 million annually to Cal Poly Pomona.
