This role may be performed from any location within driving distance to any of our offices in the Central, Mountain, and Pacific time zones.
As a Graphic Designer, you'll be an integral part of Jacobs' Defense Contractors Sales Team.
You will be responsible for the design support on a variety of sales related materials including but not limited to proposals, presentations, marketing materials, and supporting graphics. This includes conceptualization, design, and development of graphics and content that will inform and engage the intended audience. The individual must possess a high level of design aptitude and an educated under¬standing of design process, principles, and production techniques. This role requires technical skills and expertise in developing and executing creative solutions using Adobe Creative Cloud applications (including, but not limited to: InDesign, Illustrator, Photo¬shop, and Acrobat), as well as presentation software (including, but not limited to: Microsoft PowerPoint) to deliver those solutions in a variety of print and digital formats. Along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, this individual will be flexible, dedicated, proactive, organized, collaborative, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and can work effectively in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Each day will present different activities and opportunities as you help position Jacobs for success in our sales efforts. You will be responsible for the following general activities:
With little supervision, lead strategic graphic design solutions to support the production of winning proposals, sales materials, and presentations, including but not limited to long document layouts, PowerPoint presentations, story boards, covers/dividers, marketing collateral/brochures, illustrations, interactive PDFs, ads, and digital media
Plan, conceptualize, and design compelling and impactful graphics while collaborating with proposal team members and technical staff to strengthen messaging
Build and refine PowerPoint decks and presentation templates that clearly communicate technical concepts and strategic messaging
Work cross-functionally with engineering and business development teams to support visual storytelling needs
Convey complex ideas with smart graphic designs and develop concepts visually beyond bullet points
Interpret and convert technical data and conceptual content into accessible and visually appealing information
Use diverse perspectives to solve design problems and drive effective solutions
Ability to recognize areas in proposals where graphics are better suited to tell a story
Understand and follow graphic design methods, tools, and Jacobs' procedures; offer suggestions to leadership to improve processes, tool(s), and best practices
Coordinate and provide production and vendor support for submittals and interviews to instruct external vendors as needed on printing requirements
Proof work to ensure quality control
Must be able to coordinate and collaborate with team members in remote locations, in different time zones
Ability to handle multiple project assignments at one time, set priorities, set priorities, and manage work
Utilize Photoshop to enhance/edit images and prepare visuals
Support and advance improvements in processes, productivity and efficiency for our Creative Services and overall Sales team
Raise the overall quality of our client communications using our Brand Guidelines
Embraces our organizational core values, code of conduct, and culture of caring, safety and inclusion
Associates or Bachelors degree in Graphic Design or related discipline from a four-year College/University; work experience in the AEC industry that matches the requirements of the position in lieu of degree.
Minimum of 2 years of professional graphic design experience; AEC industry and/or Sales experience a plus
Advanced knowledge of procedures and technical concepts required for role, including design aptitude to understand what constitutes good design, and a demonstrated ability to apply that knowledge using layout, typography, graphics, and images in order to produce highly effective visual communications
Prior Architectural/Engineering & Construction and/or Proposal and Sales experience a plus
Knowledge of ArcGIS plug-in for Illustrator, SketchUp, Streetmix, and Interactive PDFs a plus
Illustration and hand sketching experience a plus
